Encoding Songs at 192 kbps using iTunes
Open iTunes.
Under Edit Preferences
Advanced, select the Importing Tab.
Change the "Import Using:" field to MP3 Encoder
Change the "Setting" field to Higher Quality (192 kbps). If
the song is encoded at the wrong bitrate, you will receive an error message
AFTER the system has attempted to upload your song. Any previous version of
the song (MP3) file will have been deleted. However the song information (name,
lyrics, photo, etc.) will still be on your site.
Uncheck or check the remaining boxes according to your own preferences. It's
fine (and faster) to have them all unchecked.
Click "OK" to save these settings.
Put the CD in your computer's CD player.
If you get a dialog box asking if you want to convert the CD to your library,
select "No."
You should now see a list of the tracks in the library window.
Check the songs you wish to encode (or uncheck those you do not wish to encode).
One at a time, right click (or Control-click on a Mac) the title and select
"Convert Selection to MP3" from the drop-down menu.
When you are done, you can click on the "Library" link on the left
menu. You should see your encoded songs listed.
You can confirm that the encoding is correct by right-clicking (or Control-Click
on a Mac) and selecting "Get Info" from this same menu after encoding
is complete. You will also see the path to where the file was stored - an
important bit of information you will need when you go to upload the song.
