Not a band - just one guy with a computer and time to spare. Occasionally, I might find one or more others to help out with vocals - not my strong point.
I'm 'electronic', inasmuch as most of my stuff is produced using a midi sequencer, but I don't do that sort of music - I'm too old to understand a lot of it. I don't have a lot of equipment, I just try to work with what little I have. Cakewalk and CEP for software. Soundfonts using an SB card, plus a couple of (cheap) external modules (SC7 and VZ-8M), audio with a LynxOne. Input using cheap midi keyboard controller and Korg Z3 midi guitar controller, with straight guitar on the odd occasion. I also have a Ztar (but I'm still learning how to play that!). All this will be changing these soon, following the acqusition of a Yamaha 01X mixer.
I've always been interested in 'latin' rhythms, but I try not to pigeonhole what I write. I have a 'jazz' tendency, but I'm not a good enough musician to really explore that area in depth. I'm not a prolific writer and I start a lot more than I ever finish - mainly because I decide a lot of it isn't worth persevering with. I can be fairly brutal with respect to my own music.
What I would really like to do is to find someone with some good musical ideas for a collaboration project - I believe it would help to concentrate my own ideas and I tend think of myself more as an arranger than a writer, so it would be good for me if someone else came up with the basic ideas for a change. I live in the sticks, but a 'net collaboration could be fun and I know enough about the technology to make that work.
