Todd had been listening to pop radio too much when he wrote this. His original intention was to write a sure-fire hit song and make himself millions of dollars. It seemed like every Train, Matchbox and Goo Goo song on the airwaves was about some every-day-ordinary-girl who drinks Soy Lattes and just wants to be loved. Easy enough, he thought. But bitter little ol Todd wound up writing a song that makes fun of those songs in its verses and then explodes into the sing-songiest chorus he could muster. Still waiting for the big check.
