This song was written basically for a Fort Worth gal that DW fell for...some months ago. He ain't telling all the juicy details, but he was in a pretty bad place when he met her, and she was remarkable on first impression, to say the least. They did a lot of talking, seemed to make a connection, promised some things to each other... DW wrote "Through Your Eyes" -- in about 15 minutes -- as a response to how different the world looked after finding (through a long search) somebody so seemingly genuine and worthwhile. She really picked him up. So this song is about her...and him...and what seemed to be the end of a long lonely spell for both of them. The crazy thing is that she dumped DW without an explanation about 1 week after they decided to have a go at things. Just totally out of the blue. The song is one of his (and our) favorites, all the same, but the irony is just ridiculous, isn't it? Still, we introduce it as a song about getting picked up, about getting happy, about turning things around, when you look at the world through the eyes of somebody special. A good theme, no?
