One of 2 active calderas in the continental U.S., a resurgent dome grows inside the volcano. The Long Valley Caldera lies in the Owens valley of the Eastern Sierra in California. Death Valley, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, Mono Lake and Mammoth Lakes all lie within a couple hours drive. Wrote the song as a multi-media project for a geology class. I guess you could call the genre "geologic rock".
