Ian Rushton & Friends aka the virtual band CYBASE was and idea conceived by Ian Rushton in 2003. This collection of tracks and albums is a result of numerous internet-based collaborations facilitated and produced by Ian Rushton of New Zealand and numerous musicians from various countries from around the globe. The band name "Cybase" was derived from the fact that this is a "virtual band" primarily made up of Cubase music production software enthusiasts. The "Cy" part comes from the word "cyber" and "base" from "Cubase". Simple!

Ian Rushton is UK born New Zealander, producer and self-taught pianist and guitarist, offering anything from contemporary classical and pop/rock instrumentals to adult contemporary pop and rock songs.
