Hello, I am Alan Begley, a songwriter from Dublin, Ireland. Welcome to my page. I have been writing songs for a couple of decades and co-founded the Songwriters Night in the International Bar in 1985, the first gig in Dublin/Ireland to call itself a songwriters night and to demand original material from performers. We ran for 9 years, many of our guests went on to achieve fame/notoriety - good luck to them all!
Ancient history now but back then.....it mattered!!!!

Since then, I got married, raised some children, worked a day-job to pay the bills and continued to write & play solo and in ensembles. I have had a long-time partnership with Nashville born guitar-picker Satch Wright. We have been through several incarnations. Currently, with new recruits Colin on bass and Fran on drums, we are working on a new project - Spirit Rider www.myspace.com/spiritriderband - we play a mixture of classic country and my original songs.

Despite some recent health problems, we persevere.(it's life, Jim, but not as we know it!)
We continue to write and record and are in the studio right now. We are also doing some gigs around Dublin.
