Passerby copyright 2008 by Troy L. Axtens Old man walks out his door Like he's done a thousand times before To go out and get the milk he needs for his coffee. Then on the short walk home While crossing the street all alone He's struck down by a car laid bleeding in the street. And everyones a passerby Never even stopped to try No one rushed up to his side No one offered any aid. Is all we are just passerby When trouble come we hide oureyes So afraid for our own lives That we don't want to see That everyones a passerby Homeless man walks through the night Lost all he had what he's got he holds on tight Four boys come and take his life He dies at their feet And everyones a passerby Never even stopped to try No one rushed up to his side No one offered any aid. Is all we are just passerby When trouble come we hide our eyes So afraid for our own lives That we don't want to see That everyones a passerby That everyones a passerby That everyones a passerby That everyones a passerby |
