The Meerkats live in or around the Derby area. They came together firstly as a project in the long cool summer of 2005 after a chance meeting between Adam and Tim in a music shop in Nottingham.

After a few ideas sessions and scientific experiments they had enough songs to go gigging with.

They enlisted the rhythmical pitter patter of Kev plus some bass teamed with vocals from Rob and formed the current four-piece known as The Meerkats.


The sound had been likened to a mixed bag of Jellyfish, Ben Folds and Chas 'n' Dave, stirred around in a blender and served with ice.

Led by melodic piano, rock drums and fuzz bass there's a bit of something for all tastes.
