Arthurs Dilemma
 Location: Murcia Spain

Very briefly I think we were the only popular Punk Band on the scene when it all began that didn't sell out to a big record company. We were offered deals by several majors but I didn't want to go down that road. I saw what it did to Blondie's music. Although their album went platinum I thought and still do, that it sucked commercial, trivial trash.
We played Max's Kansas City every weekend and on other special occasions more, from Ocober 78 to February 79, when I split to England.
We packed the joint every time. It was fantastic. We were hailed and feared by all the big Bands on the NYC scene at the time., and loved by the fans.
The Troggs, B52's, The Cramps and numerous others were among the Bands that played support act for us.. We Started a four day celebration with the Troggs playing every night. I was asked to support him and of course agreed, after the first set Reg Presley asked to support me as everyone left during his first set after the first few numbers and had come back ro see us. I accepted of course, Reg is a far out geazer.
I re-vived the Band about a year ago when I realised we still had fans out there on the Internet. And there were a load of bootleg records being sold..
My aim is to produce my own album without any record company help.
I hate all major record companies with a passion as I've seen so many great acts destroyed by their short-sightedness. You won't believe me but I say hear and now and I've been saying it for over thirty years now. I will never sell out!!!
In every territory I worked in, starting in Montreal, where the Dilemma was born, I have always played with local people. There was a Canadian, American and Uk Arthur's Dilemma.
Currently there's a Spanish Dilemma, and it's starting to go well.
If you want to read the history of the Band, I've started a blog on my myspace which I'm adding to week by week.
