MUDDSPYDER BIOGRAPHY

MUDDSPYDER, a Hard Rock band from LUBBOCK TEXAS is made up of:
Michael- Lead Vocals
Johnny G- Lead & Rhythm Guitar
Brandon – Bass
Mick Allen - Percussion.

MUDDSPYDER has entered the music scene kicking and screaming, pulling no punches and releasing a Hard Rock fury that has not been scene in quite some time. The band is usually compared to a mix of Motley Crue, Metallica, Alice in Chains and Black Sabbath, but the difference in our music lies with the gathering of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s music scenes and meshing these forces with a fresh twist in a stale Rock world – Allowing us to have ‘meat’ that people, fans and friends love. People want to identify with music, lyrics and a cause! The members of MUDDSPYDER know this because of the cd’s and merchandise we sell and sign at each show. The feedback is tremendous with the most common request from fans being “When are you coming back?” and “Why have we not heard you on the radio?” MUDDSPYDER is a professional, polished band that can play at the drop of a dime!!

Since then the band has been kicking at the national music scenes door, spinning a web around the hearts of Americans, Asians, Canadians, and Europeans with no intentions of stopping. MUDDSPYDER has climbed the charts online and have had many successful gigs, along with receiving radio play in several areas of the USA.

Powerful and tenacious describes the bands frontal assault to the peoples senses. The effortless vocals of Michael ranges from melodic to snarling in an instant. Energizing any listener by captivating them with thought provoking lyrics that spans any genre.

Johnny Giova the axe grinder of the group hails from Amarillo, Tx. Given his first guitar at age three and raised on the classics, he has grown to enjoy all types of music. Johnny’s influence shows, in the variety of his playing. By day he is mild mannered John Boy but somewhere in between the floor and the stage he turns into his axe wielding maniac alter ego Johnny Giova. After all, when you take life to seriously you fail to live!

Brandon, the wild card in the band, plays a five string bass with a pick. Together with his lead in solos, breaks, and ambient sounds during bridges helps give this band part of its signature sound. Being well
versed in music composition shows onstage and off. His love of taking chances shows in his bass style and outrageous personality.

Mick Allen….’Dr Killdrums’ is the rock solid pulse of MUDDSPYDER, with drums you can feel in you heart. From at an early age Mick was electrified by the power of Rock N Roll. Tearing up the skins any chance he got and sculpting his chops in every roadhouse he came upon makes Mick Allen is a integral part of this band. Simply said – The Thunder in your soul!

The name MUDDSPYDER came from an afternoon party. As the day passed on, things became a little more interesting! So interesting, that one of the group’s close friend had reached a point of almost passing out. All of a sudden he was jumping up and shouting, “I got it!” As we all looked up in confusion, he accidentally spilled a little beer in between the crack of a park bench and in the dry dirt below a figure that looked like a spider bubbled up. It stuck! We pondered other names, but always came back to MUDDSPYDER!

The bands first gig was at the Los Carnales biker club on May 14th 2005. The band completed their freshman self titled debut album in four days and wrapped up its self-produced ‘CHAINS R BROKEN’ tour in August of ’06. MUDDSPYDER has risen from a regional act to a national act in six months time and still presses forward to the next level. The band enters the music scene with a fresh vision of rock. As the band sums it up, “We create music that we can play live instead of this new wave of music that can only be produced in a studio and we will not deviate from that.”
