| "Maianbar Sunrise (with Alexis Van Eeckhout)" | |
| Original composition: Brian Ralston Tenor Sax melodies and improvs: Alexis Van Eeckhout Guitars, keyboard: Brian Ralston Final mixing: Alexis van Eeckhout Programming, and engineering: Stewart Havill This was my second collab with my now dear friend, Alexis Van Eeckhout. I had written the basic melody some time ago and occasionally played it at gigs that required background or "dinner music". After observing the change that Alexis had made to our first collab I was delighted that he agreed to add his magnificent sax to this track, as well as undertaking the final mix. Maianbar is a little village bordering a National Park in southern Sydney, about an hour's drive from the city, but largely unknown by Sydney residents (thank goodness). Our family is fortunate to have an interest in an old shack that fronts the lagoon that leads to the main beach. There aren't too many more beautiful sites that the sun rising on the sparkling waters of the Port Hacking River. Many thanks to Alexis for his majestic work on this. Hope you enjoy. | |
