Note: We now once again called The Spores.
The Spores rocked and shook a bit of New England for nearly a decade. With a short break, and a few solo projects to keep the music alive, several members got together in 2000 to revive the music and bring the Spores out of their dormant state. It was then it was noticed, this is once again The Spores, only, more conscious of the music than in the 80's. This is music for the new millennium. Music with heart, feeling, and with a message...
And this is now...
The Spores of today.
Original down to earth rock/pop with electric dazzle and strong undertone rhythms. Its all in the Music....Music with a message.... Currently working on the second full length CD. Boston's own Spores are putting a darker, heavier edge on their new music. The second CD, right now called "Scary Days", will have today's rock with melodic drama and more guitar signatures. As The Spores2000, their first CD displays listening and dancing rhythms, and different rock/pop styles with rock, groove, and ballads. With the solid flow combined with emotion and feeling, this CD is music with a message......

 What's in a Name?

In 2000, when this project got going, we weren't thinking or worried about the name. It was just a project to write and record after taking so much time off and testing the waters of a cover band. When the first album was done, we went right to the second one, but started thinking we should someday bring this new sound back on the road again. So, first we started with a website. To our surprise, we couldn't buy The Spores dot com name because it was already taken. An off-the-wall electronica duo on the west coast actually called themselves The Spores and purchased the name for 3 years. Not to discourage us, because we didn't really know how far we were going, we decided on The Spores2000 because we got together and started the project in 2000. Now, just finishing our second CD, we're getting ready for the road again. Because we've been The Spores since the 80's, we're taking back the name, but legally won't have the dot com name until proper trademark issues are put into place. We're still thinking in the back of our minds... "How the hell did they think of that name?" We thought we had the only warped minds...
So, in some internet places The Spores2000 will still be seen, but make no mistake, it's the REAL Spores you'll probably be seeing and hearing. And when DJ's are announcing our songs, it's The Spores that will be infecting your ears.
