My name is Gord Sheffroth, ever since I was a young lad I wanted to have the stage name"Gorian Roth",it has no deep meaning but sounz better than my given, and who would pay money to see a name like Gord Sheffroth anyway?
My connection to the site?, is my so called musical background, starting in a band called "HELLION" who came third in the east coast battle of the bands back in 1984ish,"HAYWIRE" was first,"RAZORBOY"second and we came in a cool third(cool night)...joined a Judas Priest cover band(Second Death) in Newfoundland and won the respect of 5000 bike gang members, but nearly starved to death...(not a big exaggeration) Joined a traveling top forty band called "Fairchild" around 1986,and opened for "Tom Cochrane and red rider"during the boy inside the man tour, then hooked up with a talented singer/songwriter named Mike Dykeman,(Stinkfist)and formed a group called "Salvation Front"which aquired a 6 album deal with 'Monogram Records"and managed to record "Trying to stay real"before they went belly up...,but we managed to raise the master tapes from the ashes and release some time later on "Magada International's" label which never really turned into much. But all was not lost as I was able to use the material on that album to (believe it or not)come in the top 10 singers in line to replace Rob Halford from Judas Priest,(and that still freaks me out!)... Anyway I did not get the gig then, but was now able to die due to the near miss.
So what the hell am I doin now musically?...nothing!that is until a few month's ago when I started conversing with a very talented Gary Nightingale(ex:power syndrome) who has resurrected this ol voice of mine to lay down some new stuff with him that is full "o" chemistry like I have never had before to this degree. We only record in his basement so far,(just bought logic pro 7),but I feel it will lead to something greater if the right people hear what we are puttin down.Gary is that guy you love to hate because he plays every instrument, and he is very proficient on them all,and above that he sings with the best of them too.We were also very fortunate to get hooked up with the likes of a fantastic guitar player named Bob Melanson who melded effortlessely into this project, and if his fiery fingers were not enuff, its the years of technical experience, mixing and recording, not only his own material, but he also does the same for television productions like "this hour has 22 minutes" and "the trailer park boys".Keep your ear in on us as we are continually writing new stuff for you to listen too.
