Cry for England
info
I stumbled on the expression '.... for England' - as in: 'My wife could eat for England'; 'He can talk for England, that one!', meaning he/she is so good at something they could represent their country at it - and realised it had enough double-meaning to at least attempt a song about this once proud nation. There is barely a square inch of this globe that this old lady hasn't pillaged or nurtured, loved or hated. It's nearly all sequenced, except vocals and acoustic guitars, using: two basic drum loops by Groovemasters; Moog bass; treated piano and strings; lots of synthy sounds and persussion; Vocoder; lots of effects; and lots of automation during mixdown, for which Reason is very well suited. I recorded this in mid-May 2006.

I know this song won't mean much to our distant cousins over the water, but just remember: Britain had the greatest empire in the history of the world. Now look at her as she 'sits forlorn in borrowed dress'. Your time will come, O mighty US of A. While you are momentarily 'top dog' let the time you spend there be of benefit to the whole world, not just to your little corner.
