Miss Arizona is a ballad that blends today's pop beat with the rinky tink patterns of ragtime. She just released this song about her Great Aunt Isabel who was Miss Tucson in 1930 at the age of 15. Her talent in the show was playing piano by ear...her favorite color coincidently, was lavender. She never got the opportunity to try for Miss Arizona. In a tragic accident, she was hit in the head with a bottle while trying to break up a fight in a bar where she performed. She developed a hematoma - in the 50's, brain surgery was more of an idea than a skill...when they removed it, they removed a portion of her speech capabilities. For the rest of her life, she could only say a few words, but she could play beautifully. She's gone now...or is she? Many times Amethyst has been in situations where she has been protected by a guardian Angel - she wonders if that could be Aunt Isabel.....
