DJ Motmot roosts amongst the trees in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. She found her way to SongPlanet in early 2005 as an avid listener of independent music and chatroom regular, and has now migrated to be SongPlanet's substitute DJ. Or should we say D Jay?
When she's not listening to indie artists sing, you can find Motmot focussing her attention on birdsong. An amateur naturalist, she leads field trips for beginning birders and coordinates activities like the Christmas Bird Count for Victoria.
Her work and other pastimes keep DJ Motmot hopping. You'll have to keep an eagle-eye out for announcements of her live DJ show "The Show Must Go On." She drops in on the stream every once in a while, just to keep it out of the clutches of DJ Nomad, but she flies away just as quickly.
(And in case you were wondering, a Motmot is a tropical bird!)
