Soulpower are made up of 2 musicians of the highest order. Anni Ernst Hamer is a New Orleans born singer/songwriter with what some call 'the voice of an angel'. Whether it be foky acoustic numbers, big soaring ballads or guitar-heavy rockers this girl can do it all. Liam Hamer is a UK-born multi-instrumentalist/producer. He single-handedly does all the recording and production for Soulpower. Whether it be playing a screaming guitar solo, composing a string section, grooving on a bassline or mastering an album this guy is equally at home. Together these 2 are a real force to be reckoned with in the independent music world.

It all started in May 2001....a chance meeting online between a female singer/songwriter from Texas, USA and a male instrumentalist from Cumbria, England. After hearing eachother's solo material they decided to embark on a 'trans-atlantic' collaboration with spectacular results. Not only did they click musically, but also personally...meeting in person in January 2002. In June of the same year they married and now live in England with a young son. After putting music on hold for a while the dynamic duo returned to top form in the summer of 2003 and spent the remainder of the year working on debut album 'Roots and Wings'. Their music combines the beatifully captivating vocal style of Anni with the instrumental virtuosity and producing flair of Liam. 'Roots and Wings' was released in April 2004.
