The music of Gare (Gary Teed) reminds us of the 60's and 70's music. Maybe even a taste of the eighties. Growing up during this time he is definitely influenced by those years. His guitar music has been called a cross between folk and country but he has his own unique style. He also has his own unique style with creating funky music from loops and samples. Playing guitar during his early 20's he stayed pretty much low key, never playing gigs or shows and prefering to simply entertain friends and himself with his music. He plays guitar totally by ear and never had any formal training. He never really felt his music was all that good. Life became more rushed and hectic causing him to put his guitar away for over 17 years. He has been back at it for a few years now, picking the guitar back up in 2004.
Now, much older and out of work due to his health, he has decided to pick the guitar back up. He has dusted off the old songs he wrote years ago and has even written a couple of new songs. The new methods of recording to a computer harddrive interested him so now he is working on learning the ropes of digital recordings. He uses Cakewalk Sonar to create his music. What you see here is the result so far. Rough recordings, no doubt. But, the music is theraputic for him. It has a calming effect. If others enjoy his music, he sees this as a bonus!
