Akheron was conceptualized in the year 1999 in electronic music and music theory classes. All work was halted in 2001 due to hardware failure, but resumed in 2003 as new hardware and software were aquired.

Akheron is inspired by industrial music in general, and by modern film soundtracks and the 'dark ambient' genre. It is presently entirely electronic and completely instrumental.

Work continues on both a debut release, and a conceptual album to be released sometime afterwards.
