From the 1996 release "The Heart Has Reasons" This track is typical of the mood of the CD - sparse, ambient, acoustic guitar and string quartet. Originally released through Australian record label ABC, it is now an independent release, and has been re-issued with new artwork, and re-mastered. A couple of dear friends of mine had announced their intention to end their marriage of ten years. Later they revealed that the decision had been reached six months before the official announcement. I thought about how difficult it must have been to stay living together, knowing it was over, and keeping this knowledge to themselves. A Long Goodbye....
