****DIRTY ROCK FOR THE MASSES**** Stemming from Vancouver's hotbed of musical talent, CATAPULT fuses progressive rock, metal, and pop blended with an acoustic southern influence. Conceived in 1997, forming CATAPULT proved to be more difficult than anticipated. Singer/Acoustic guitar player MYK SHAFLIK, who's past includes a long history in the Vancouver music scene with credits including, vocalist/songwriter for DemoLISTEN/SEEDS award winning band OPIUM UNDERGROUND, as well as SOUL DUST, JOKERS WILD, NASTY TOYZ, RANSOM, and a host of other cover and original bands. After years working behind the scenes in Vancouvers music community, MYK felt the itch to inject some solid Rock and Roll into the seemingly mundane Canadian garage indie scene. That, the birth of CATAPULT. Taking the month of December 04 off to re-evaluate the direction of the band MYK decide a new lineup was in order to spark the soul. With members AUBREY TROTTER on drums, formerly of Victoria's BELT and DECIPLES OF WAX FRUIT, AUBREY'S experience of progressive rock and metal strengthen the back line. Also with JASON JD DEKONING on bass and support vocals. J.D's history with MOTHERSON and LIQUID LOUD added solid grooves. His great ear for arrangement and songwriting skills are a definite plus for the band and their fan's, while helping CATAPULT place in the top 20 for CFOX SEEDS 05. 2008 proves to be an exciting year as the buzz continues to grow around CATAPULT. With the bands upcoming busy schedule, original guitar player and good friend JAY JARVIS has returned to the group to cement the bands original vision of songwriting.The band completes studio sessions Summer 2008 to set up the release of the EP, website and video.
