I have been singing since I was little ...but was afraid to be heard....so I would go in the bathroom and sing real quiet up against the door and get my natural echo effect to bounce back at me........Thats what I call making do with what you have.....:o)......
My grandma used to call me in the room and say.......Valerie I will give you a 50 cent piece coin if you will sing for me....I stood there in fright and thought about it and ....said hmmmm.........I would like a coke and some candy so ..I said yes I will do it.......I sang the song and ran after she gave me the money and I sang it so fast I bet no one understood a word sung........

Mama made me do it....Have you ever heard that phrase....?????
I was at home one day….and I was sick with a sore throat and she said your going to sing today............I looked back at her and said well I am sick......She said so.......your singing today.......So I did sing that day......

The very 1st song I performed for the public was Paper Roses..by Marie Osmond.........I sang it at a night club contest at the age of 10 years old and won 2nd place....Guess who was 1st place????........My mama........She got the big trophy ..I got the runt.....hahaha....I guess it’s better than nothin’.......What do ya think????...

Well I continued to sing when no one was watching.......I couldn’t sing in front of people at first ...........but I could sing just great in my bathroom alone.......Imagine that...Later I found that I could sing for thousands people but not just one......That made no since to me........Later I figured it all out.....
When there are thousands, its no big deal...But when there is one....You feel disected.......I guess....I don’t really understand it a whole lot ,but all I can say is its getting better.....

Self esteem and knowing who you are and what you stand for make it much easier...to perform.....

Later I performed at church events, fund raisers, weddings, night clubs, etc......

I’ve sung at many paid events and free ones as well....

I have come to discover that my talent is not limited.......I can sing all genres....Somehow God blessed me with that choice..which is so great..I can bend a little and mix it all up sometimes and its so cool......I can be whatever I need to be to get the job done......

My mission is to touch hearts and make them feel alive ...and to give hope to those who feel there is none.......
