In
the wee hours of April 10, The Alternate
Routes performed "Time is a Runaway" on Late Night with
Conan O'Brien. It was a great thrill for the SongPlanet DJs and artists
who managed to catch the show!
The
Alternate Routes are a fairly recent addition to the list of amazing
artists who have posted their music on SongPlanet.com, and are an example
of why we boldly claim to have the best Indie music on the planet.
The
band hails from Bridgeport, Connecticut, and says that "the trio
hung onto their music, their ideals, refining their sound and never
lost focus. They turned each humbling moment into a lesson, each gig
into a learning experience and established the all-or-nothing attitude
that has come to define them." It looks like they have really managed
to put it all together!

Did
you know that you can make SongPlanet Radio sound awesome by connecting
your computer to your home stereo system? And you don't have to be super-tech-y
to do it. By running a cable between your computer's line out (preferred)
or headphone jack to one of the inputs (usually AUX or CD) on your stereo,
you can take full advantage of those pricey speakers you have!

The
picture above is the most common cable that would be used to make the
connection. It has a stereo mini-plug for the computer output jack,
and RCA jacks for the stereo input. You will need to double-check your
own equipment to determine what cables you would need. And of course,
the length that you will need depends on how close your computer is
to your stereo!
On
your computer or on your stereo, be sure to tune in to SongPlanet Radio!

For
those of you who do tend toward the tech-y side, here is an article
that provides lots of detail.
